MAGAZINE
The Loyolite 2004
Editing the annual magazine of Loyola School
Role
To assist the Editor in planning stories, editing, proof-reading.
The big picture
Worked on the idea that the magazine should be a good record of school activities i.e. a person reading the magazine 10 years from now, should find it informative and interesting.
The small steps
- Journalistic reports: Greater attention was given to reports of school activities. Encouraged students to write journalistic reports (e.g. with quotes), rather than experiential accounts.
- Content planning: Identified topics like cricket academy. Introduced a photo-pullout, feedback form.
- Proof-reading: Careful proof-reading by two persons minimised errors.
