Commissioning

As a commissioning editor, I identify authors and manuscripts for SAGE Publications. I do this in two ways:

• Commissioning: I contact experts and writers, and discuss a book idea that struck SAGE or me. Here, the initiative comes from us.
• Acquiring/Acquisitioning: Experts and writers contact me (or I bump into them!) and we discuss a book idea they have in mind. In such cases, often, the manuscript has largely been shaped by the time it reaches me.

Note: I am working on a book and hence on leave from SAGE from October 2007 to September 2008. But you may contact me with book proposals.
