About Ashok
Ashok R Chandran is New India Fellow 2007-08, and Senior Commissioning Editor (on leave) at SAGE Publications, in New Delhi.
As New India Fellow, he is writing a biography of politician and social activist P.T. Bhaskara Panicker.
At SAGE, he is involved in identifying manuscripts for publication. He also dabbles in editing and designing books and journals.
Before joining publishing, Ashok was member of consultancy teams to international development agencies on policy analysis, impact assessment and programme evaluation. He used to write in The Hindu and The New Indian Express on Kerala politics, economy and society. He has also contributed to The Indian Express and The Pioneer.
Ashok is a postgraduate in Development Studies from London School of Economics (LSE), and in Politics with specialisation in International Relations, from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi.
His leisure interests include internet publishing.
